Honoring the best Ukrainian athletes and coaches of all generations took place in the Hall of Columns of the Kyiv City State Administration.

Pre-New Year meeting organized in the format of "blue lights" was led by the famous show presenters Olena Govorova, Peter Maga and Alexander Mashchenko.

“Sports Generations Relay " gathered in one hall the elite of Ukrainian sports: the world and European champions and record-breakers, winners of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic games of all times, I Youth Olympic Games, the World Games of non-Olympic sports, candidates for participation in the XXX Olympic games, their mentors. Among them, the legends of Ukrainian sports - Larissa Latynina, Vladimir Golubnichy, Zinaida Turchina, Valery Borzov, Igor Korobchinsky, Olga Bryzgina, Bogdan Makuts, Stella Zakharova, Viktor Petrenko, Anna Litvinenko, Elbrus Tedeyev, Vladimir Volkov, Lily Podkopayeva, Vasylyi Lomachenko, Irina Merleni , Artur Aivazian, Irina Zverinskaya, and many others.

The celebration was visited by statesmen and politicians: Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolay Azarov; Minister of Education and Science, Youth and Sports Dmytro Tabachnik; the head of the Civil Service For Youth and Sports Ravil Safiullin; First Deputy Chairman of the Service Sergey Glushchenko; Vice-President of Service Vadim Sisyuk and others.

 Festival participants remembered past victories, watched archival footage of different years, where sport battles were documented, heard many words of high respect and gratitude. In particular, Mykola Azarov conveyed greetings from President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and promised to support the athletes of Ukraine from the state. Also the main initiator of the celebration Ravil Safiullin congratulated each participant and awarded outstanding athletes and coaches with commemorative medals "Sports pride of Ukraine."

 "Sports Generations Relay” was a success! For the first time! And we want to believe that it will become a good New Year's Eve tradition.
