In June 11-13, 2010 in Kiev the 17th European Inter-parliamentary tennis tournament was hosted and our agency was engaged in organization. The representatives of the Parliaments of Georgia, Italy, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Croatia and Switzerland arrived to participate in it.
The tournament opening and teams draw were held at the entertainment center«D’Lux». The participants and guests had a look at the authentic Ukrainian musical instruments, got know the secrets of the Ukrainian costume, enjoyed the ethnic music performed by the band "Huljajhorod" and European hits in the original adaptation of the bandura player Valentin lysenco.
The games took place in the tennis club «Campa», in the town Bucha of Kiev region.
The championship of the tournament won the team of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc fraction members Pavel Kostenko and Andrei Kozhemyakin. The runner-up was Slovenia; the third place went to Italy.
The grand tournament closing and cups giving were held at the restaurant on the water “Veranda”. Besides, winners and participants had an opportunity to show their singing talents in the karaoke contest and ability to dance to the catching hits performed by participant of the contest "New Wave" Lali.
In short, the tournament was a success! European parliamentarians left with bright impressions and a desire to compete in Kiev more than once. But for the time being the transitional tournament Cup will be decorating the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine all the year.
