VAL BARKER CUP Trophy awarded to the best boxer in the Games in terms of style. Established
in 1936, it was named after Val Barker, the honorary secretary of FIBA in 1920. The first to win it
was the American Louis Laurie, who won a bronze in the flyweight event in Berlin. Other winners
were Nino Benvenuti (q.v.) in 1960 and Patrizio Oliva (q.v.) in 1980.
In 2009 the Trophy was fair given to Olympic Champion in Beijing - Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko
